Hey guys,
i just bought a new car, and have few questions. i like to take care of my stuff and thats why i want to install the clear brar that protects the hood. I called this shop where i got my windows tints from on my last car and they don't install 3m hood protector but the one they install is a different stuff which is still clear and comes ith lifetime warranty. Cost of that is $200. I know 3m is more pricy and the shop could install that one if i want but will be more money. (not sure how much.)
do you think that i should just install the product the shop recommended? it does comes with lifetime warranty.
Also, do you think it's a good idea to apply wax/sealant etc before installing the clear brar on the hood? I want to get the hood thing done asap cuz i go on the highway a lot but the weather here sux in toronto and i'm not sure if i should get the car wax before installing the hood protector.
thanksClear hood protector?
Get the 3M hood protector. You can trust that this will work for the long haul, someone elses stuff, who knows. The shop pushes the alternate because they make more money from it, not ebcause it is a better material.
The alternate protector might have a warranty, but good luck getting it enforced in 5-10 years and gettign your hood repainted to match when its needed. At lest with 3M, you know what your getting.
Your protecting a $30,000 investment, $50 or so is nothing for quality and longevity.

I have that stuff on my classic '71 Riviera and I like it a lot. I noticed my 2000 4runner has it stock on the rear door infront of the wheel well and it is holding up fine.
